Public Rights of Way and Open Country

Public Rights of Way
Registered Common Land and Open Country (legislation governing use, rights and responsibilities)
Natural England (learning resource web page)
Natural England (downloadable resources)
Natural England (request a resources pack (CD & activity sheets) for Teachers, Youth Groups & Volunteers)

Young people, teachers and groups may also wish to discuss the issues and best ways to share the Public Rights of Way network with other users and using a right of way in accordance with its status and help to protect wildlife.

There are local opportunities available to enjoy this public resource (get out get active) and we are striving to make opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding, making a sketch, listening to bird song or just be in Open Country or in town. There are improvements and gaps in the network which we identify in the first Poole and Bournemouth Rights of Way Improvement Plan.
